Well, I passed my
CompTIA Network+ exam
yesterday, scored 765 out of 900 =) The X-Games were
entertaining
as well on Sunday, lots of destruction of cars, but exciting too.
I found this cool story on Digg that some guy built a replica
of
the Batman "Tumbler" vehicle from one of the latest Batman movies (the
one that looks like a tank). Here is the URL, I will try to
put a
better post together later on, at work right now. http://gizmodo.com/5033451/diy-batman-tumbler-is-nearly-perfect-built-with-one-mans-bare-hands
Today on ESPN 3pm
eastern time the 2008 X-Games Rally Car Racing Final will be airing.
Particular interest to me because my car (Subaru WRX) has
been the feature vehicle in past years' competitions. It's
pretty sweet really, the rally event takes place inside of a stadium
with a dirt course (including a jump I think) which continues up the
stadium ramp and outside into the parking lot (usually involving
another jump as the car exits the stadium up the ramp (due to the speed
of the exit the cars fly through the air for a short
distance)....anyways, it's cool, check it out if you are bored....if
you are out of television broadcast range you can view video content
here at EXPN.com
here is a video from a past year's event so you can see what it's like

New upgrades are on
the way for the
WRX....gold/chrome 5zigen FN01r-c wheels 18"x7.5" that I got on
ebay...the tires I .....[nate takes a quick break to grab some wings
and salad from LaNova that my workplace brought in for us
today...italian, bbq, sesame, medium and the "jay leno"
wings...hmmmm.....].....so anyways, I also have an STi intercooler on
the way, and I think I am going to do the STi pink 565cc injectors as
well as the IHI VF39 turbo upgrade and reflash my ecu with the Cobb map
for this setup...oh yes, and I still have to get some 225/40 18 tires
to put on these wheels when they come in...bigger would be fun but I
don't know if they would fit without fender modifications...so we'll
see, still deciding how much to spend on the tires, if it's cheaper to
order and have mounted locally or just buy and have mounted locally,
i'm looking to keep each tire's price as far below $100 as
possible....that is all for the moment....back to work !

This is the coolest
thing I have ever seen, today:
this is pretty cool too:
Yesterday
I went to a
car show up at Fisherman's Park in North Tonawanda, NY sponsored by Rod
and Piston (magazine I think). I took a lot of photos (which
I may post eventually), here is one of a classic 1950's Chevrolet
Corvette convertible. I don't like the way the colors turned
out in this photo very much, it looks a little funny. It was
shot using my Canon Digital Rebel XT with highest contrast and
saturation settings (the high contrast is killing it a little I think
in this photo) with either a EF-S 17-85mm
or the
EF 100-400mm L series IS. I also used circular polarizing
filters on each lens and adjusted them to remove glare from the
windshields. I have a feeling this contributed to the color
balance issues a little, but not sure. Well, nothing a little
photoshop can't fix when I have more time I guess =)

Here is a yellow Honda
S2000 for your viewing
pleasure, courtesy of a new car lot in Amherst, NY from a few years ago
when I was shopping for my WRX. Slightly photoshopped, but
nothing crazy.
